Device(s): Advent 4211

OK, so lets see I've got a choice of Advent 4211c (1gb ram, 120gb hdd model) & Advent 4213 (1gb ram, 160gb hdd model with sim slot)

I should get 4211c because...
- There loads of support if i install os x.
- Very famouse because of os x kalyway hack.
- Nice looking, I prefer the look of it then the wind actually.

I should get the 4213 because...
- Love the look
- Slim and lighter than 4211
- possible to os x but i would need to buy dual-layer DVD's because all i can find are blank dvd's containing 4.35gb i could buy dual-layers but PC World sell them for £10 for a 4 pack. but its simpler to just get the 4211c then but then i dont get the sim slot and the nice look of the 4213
- Comfterbul keyboard, well for me it is because i have small hands and i am very used to the 2005 mac model keyboard(s)

Cons of 4213 (for me)
- Dual-Layer DVD is needed to OS X hack it.

Cons of 4211c (for me)
- No sim slot
- Not a fan of its keyboard

Right now im thinking 4213

but i cant decide, what do u think, please have a reason, i hate people who just write "4211c" for example and nothing else.

thanks allot.

Assuming its still an Intel Atom, GMA950, etc system inside, I'd go for the bigger disk & the sim slot. I however have not found a way of getting my 3G USB stick to work under OSX & thats the main reason I still have WinXP to boot from on my system (4211). I would dig around & check there is a solution under OSX for the 3G card or accept its like the headphone socket, something you can live without. I have had most success using the MSIWINDOSX86 image to build my "Hackintosh". That definitely fits on a normal DVD & is 10.5.4 saving the upgrade from the Kalyway versions. I found it easily on pirate bay, but it is Intel Atom etc specific, hence my question, as it has had all the other kext's removed. Its easy to build a dual boot system, WinXP needs to be in the first disk partition & OSX the second, I have a third FAT32 partition as both operating systems can see it so I only need to save files once in there. I used puppylinux to carve the disk up, it boots from a USB stick, runs in memory so you don't need to install it & has an easy to use (graphical) disk partition tool. (www.puppylinux.org) There is a good set of instructions on how to use it on the website (with pictures !) in the manual section.
